Frequently asked questions
- Can EMRiCare be used without internet access?
-
No. EMRiCare requires internet access to function.
We do have plans in the roadmap to implement offline access in the near future but currently, internet is required.
Until then, if you don't have access to wifi we recommend a mobile hotspot which can be purchased from any of the major carriers.
It may also be possible for you to turn your mobile phone into a mobile hotspot to obtain internet through your wireless carrier.
If you are uncertain about mobile coverage in the area you'll be working, GSMA provides coverage maps which you can view here:
- Is EMRiCare HIPPA compliant?
-
Short answer. No.
A longer answer would be, yes, in every way except authentication.
For authentication we use SSO or passwordless authentication as we believe these are more secure and lead to a better user experience.
It would be fairly trivial for us to implement the HIPPA compliant authentication methods, but until we have the need, we have opted for a better user experience.
- How can I cancel my subscription?
-
We believe cancelling a subscription should be easy, so we've built it that way.
Just head over to the billing page and you'll find a cancel button at the bottom.
We don't offer prorated refunds so you'll be able to access and update your records until the end of the billing period.
After the billing period you'll loose access to your patient records. We recommend you move the data you need to a safe place before the billing period ends.
Once the billing period ends, we'll archive your patient records and there will be additional fees if you need to retrieve them.
- How secure is my patient data?
-
Very.
All of your data is encrypted between the server and your devices.
The data is encrypted at rest (when saved to disk). This means even if there is a security breach, you're data is useless to anyone without the security keys to read it.
Uploaded files are stored in a secure data storage solution.
While the technology is secure, it is important to understand the weakest point in any system is the people using it. It is essential to train your people on best security practices for your organization.
